Alphas music technology coordinator, Ricardo Diaz, says the donation will have an immediate impact. “Our students will gain crucial technology skills and contemporary recording and production experiences as part of their associate degree studies,” he said, “which will make them more employable and more prepared for the contemporary music industry. Many thanks to the People Bridge Foundation for its generous support.”

People Bridge Foundation President, Diana Burke, recognizes the importance of making sure Jamaica’s music and culture training facilities keep up with the times. “Being from Jamaica and living in Canada for many years,” she says, “I see and hear firsthand the love of Jamaican culture. I am glad People Bridge Foundation is able to assist such a deserving program like the Alpha School of Music which is committed to making sure access to music education is available for those who need it most.”

The generous gift offers an additional, value-added benefit of unlocking an important aspect of the school’s sustainability plan. Thanks to the flexibility afforded by the new equipment, Alpha will be able to add its studio to the spaces available for rent to the public. Click here for the list of available spaces.
