The term “shedding” in music refers to intensely practicing a music selection to achieve maximum proficiency.

A drum shed is when drummers create informal, communal learning sessions, sometimes playing along with a track, trading solos, sharing new ideas or simply enjoying acoustic kits with others. For “2-Drums, 1-Beat”, Senior Music Instructor and drum tutor Clayon Samuels invited Alpha School of Music graduate and drummer, Jonathan ‘Saturn’ Gordon to select the play-along track.
“Jonathan’s selection for this project demonstrates his remarkable progress during his Alpha journey,’ said Samuels, praising his past student. “The piece starts with a solid groove, followed by improvisational sections that showcase their musical conversation. It’s especially meaningful to see him represent Alpha through his musical talents.”
