THE ALPHA SCHOOL OF MUSIC ANNOUNCES THE FIRST OPEN HOUSE FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
The Alpha School of Music is pleased to announce its first Open House for the 2022-2023 school year will be held on June 24th at the 26 South Camp Road campus. Teachers, students, and parents are invited to register their interest by contacting Alpha School of Music by email or phone. The Open House is an opportunity for students to see the facilities and meet staff and current Alpha School of Music students. Alpha has been preparing students for the commercial music and entertainment industry for over 100 years. The Open House is a great opportunity to ask questions about the program and how ASOM can help you meet your music goals. Space is limited and everyone is urged to book their participation today.
Gay Magnus, Bandmaster at the Alpha School of Music, said the pre-qualifying opportunity means incoming students are not required to have lots of music theory or performance experience. “Whether you have formal music training or learned music by ear, as long as you are passionate about a music career and can demonstrate some basic skills, the Alpha School of Music can help you turn your music passion into a music career.”

The Alpha School of Music Associate Degree in Music Performance prepares young men 16-25 years old for the commercial music and entertainment industry and is Jamaica’s only tertiary-level programme focused on band performance. A diverse cross-section of musical styles is offered allowing students with a passion for music to explore the best that each genre has to offer from ska and reggae to pop, jazz, and folk music. Our unique curriculum features individual instruction on guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and keyboard and provides a foundation in music theory and ear training which is complemented by best practices in music
